Christopher Blewett, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care specialist practicing in Plano, Texas. He joined Southwest Pulmonary in 2010 and has since dedicated himself to providing expert, compassionate care for patients facing a wide range of respiratory and critical illnesses.
Dr. Blewett earned his Doctor of Medicine from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed his residency training across multiple esteemed institutions, including UT Southwestern Medical School, Parkland Hospital, and the Dallas VA Medical Center. While working full time during the COVID pandemic, he enrolled in the school of public health at Tufts University School of Medicine and obtained his degree of Master of Public Health in August 2023. Further honing his expertise, he pursued fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Blewett also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Spanish from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Dr. Blewett spent much of his childhood in Austin, Texas before moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to attend medical school. He was drawn to pulmonary and critical care medicine due to the field’s diversity, complexity, and the intense challenges it presents in diagnosing and treating diseases.
Dr. Blewett and his wife, an OB-GYN with Women’s Health Specialists of Dallas, live in Plano with their two daughters and their Whippet-Pyrenees mix puppy. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active by running, playing lacrosse, and soccer. His dedication to medicine and his family reflects his well-rounded, compassionate approach to both life and patient care.
